Don’t Take Our Word for it….

My daughter had a follow up doctor appointment after school. We were waiting for less than three minutes before being seen. After the appointment when I put my daughter in her car seat she said that the little girl in the waiting room was asking her dad for more water. I didn’t hear that. But the she told me the little girl was talking to her dad in Spanish and she undersood what she was saying. My daughter is in the Dual Language Kindergarten class. She has gained so much confidence in herself. We love WFS!

The nurturing, encouraging, fun-loving environment of Westbury Friends School has stimulated my son to shine at his full wattage! Amir's energy shines wherever he goes, but I think the past 3.5 years spent at WFS has helped him expand and vibrate to become a positive community member of the world all while learning his ABC's and 123's. As a parent I sought a school that would be an extension of the loving, nurturing, learning and encouraging environment that we try to cultivate at home and WFS has been the exact extension we have been looking for! The teachers understand that children learn from movement and exploration; from nature and from each other's experiences. Each teacher from nursery to currently 1st grade has built a foundation for Amir to develop into the leader he has become as well. And let's not forget the Quaker testimonies that are taught each month: Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, and Equality. These testimonies build a positive foundation for our children and are great traits to foster within ourselves.

As parents who have experienced various educational institutions, we cannot express enough how grateful we are to have our child attend this remarkable school. It is a place that surpasses all others in terms of its warmth, uniqueness, and genuine dedication to nurturing young minds.

From the moment our child stepped foot through the school's doors, she was enveloped in a loving and nurturing environment. We experienced this firsthand when our child didn't want to go home because she wanted more time with her friends! WFS is not just an education center for us, but is an important part of our family. Our daughter has been going to WFS since she was 3 years old. WFS helped us potty trained her, and now is helping us by teaching her how to read. WFS has been with our family in all of her important milestones, just like any family member is. Since the moment our daughter steps onto campus she is greeted by everybody: staff members, fellow students from all grades with their parents. It is such a small-family community that everybody knows her name and she knows everybody's too. That to us is priceless. The staff at WFS is warm, welcoming and is always available around the clock. Their academic curriculum is designed to enhance the kids' social skills and how they interact with each other, full of outside activities no matter the time of year. Thank you WFS for caring for our kids the same way we as parents care for them!

My child had a wonderful experience at Westbury Friends School. During his two years at Westbury Friends, he felt valued, understood, and loved. With the nurturing love and guidance from every teacher, staff member and Mrs. Anderson, the Head of School, he was able to thrive and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. He will carry the values he learned at WFS everywhere he goes.
